ABOUT WAKILI CHARLES THIONGO FOUNDATION

Founding Story

Wakili Charles Thiongo Foundation was established Wakili Charles Thiongo who is an avid believer in the transformative power of education. Recognizing his commitment to helping those less fortunate, the foundation was created to perpetuate dream of providing every child with the chance to pursue a quality education.

We believe every child matters. Our goal is to ensure all children live life in all its fullness. To achieve this, we work in remote and hard to reach areas to find solutions to health, education, food, water and sanitation challenges. Because children can only thrive in healthy communities, our work is holistic and impacts not only the lives of children, but also their families, households and communities. This ensures that children are well-natured, supported and taken care of. Through a bottom-up participatory process, we work with children to address problems affecting them. Our goal is to educate them about their rights and empower them to become advocates against injustices they face. There are many challenges. But, we continue because today’s children are the future of Kenya.

1. Nurturing and developing youths’ talents in arts and sports
2. ⁠Innovation in job creation and harnessing opportunities in Information Technology & New Media
3. ⁠Raising educational standards and promoting digital literacy programs in schools
4. Environmental conservation and promotion of modern farming techniques focused on agribusiness and value addition of farm produce
5. Economic empowerment and supporting the elderly, orphans, widows, Persons Living With Disabilities (PWD’s) and other vulnerable members of the society

Wakili Charles Thiongo Foundation aims to transform the lives of needy children in Kenya by providing them with access to quality education. We are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by investing in the educational development of children from underserved communities.
